June 22, 2012: What's new? I apologize for the lack of updates these past few months. Here's a quick update of recent (and some not so recent) news.
In november last year, Hal Kanter died at the age of 92. Mr. Kanter created the TV series, Julia, starring Diahann. More on the death of Mr. Kanter in this New York Times article (external link).
Someone else who had an impact on Ms. Carroll's career was Nolan Miller. Mr. Miller, who designed those over-the-top dresses and costumes for the hit TV show Dynasty, died June 6. He was 79 years old.
White Collar will start its fourth season on July 10, 2012 (USA). Diahann has a recurring role as June Ellington.
Diahann's return to the silverscreen in We The Peeples is long overdue. The movie, originally said to be released in 2011, will open May 10, 2013. Yes, that's right, 2013. But I'm sure it's worth the wait, as it's not often we have the pleasure to se Ms. Carroll at the cinemas these days.
The Split, the 1968 film, is available to buy on "DVD on demand" from Amazon.com.
Dynasty: Season Six, Vol. 2 is released on July 3, 2012 in the USA. In Europe season seven was released last year (see below). Season eight is released in Europe this summer, but Diahann Carroll is no longer featured, as she had left the series by then. US Dynasty fans can expect season seven (the last one with Diahann) to be released in two parts late 2012 or early 2013.
October 25, 2011: Dynasty Season 7 DVD The seventh (and final co-starring Diahann) season of Dynasty will be released on November 16, 2011 in Scandinavia. Germany and the UK to follow. No release date for the US yet, where season six has yet to be released.
July 22, 2011: Diahann to receive Lifetime Achievement Award
Diahann Carroll is this years receiver of the NAACP Theatre Lifetime Achievement Award. It will be handed out at the 21st Annual NAACP Theatre Awards, held at the Director's Guild of America (DGA) located at 7920 West Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood on Monday, August 29, 2011.
June 28, 2011: The Lady, The Music, The Legend - on CD and DVD
Turns out Diahann's great one woman show The Lady, The Music, The Legend, recorded at the Annenberg Theater last year, is not exclusive to iTunes. There is both a CD and a DVD released! The CD and DVD is available exclusively from the website http://www.theladythemusicthelegend.com/. I ordered my CD and DVD a couple of weeks ago, paid using PayPal, and got the package a couple of days later, courtesy of Wonderstar Productions. What a treat to get this great show, not only on CD but on DVD as well. Highly recommended!
June 15, 2011: Goodbye diahann-carroll.info - welcome back, diahann-carroll.com A couple of years ago I was late with the renewal of the domain name, diahann-carroll.com. Someone else quickly "kidnapped" the domain and I had to use the alternative domain name, diahann-carroll.info. This year I finally got my original domain back, and I'm happy to announce that this site once again is to be known as diahann-carroll.com. The old domain will work for another few months, but please note that it will no longer be updated. The news page and the main page will automatically re-direct traffic to the new domain, please make sure that you're on the right site and please update your bookmarked pages.
Thanks for your continued support,

I've seen it on Amazon.co.uk and on European iTunes stores, not sure about the rest of the world. The movie, and the soundtrack, features two great performances by Diahann, Say No More, It's Goodbye and Love Is Just A Word.

July 17, 2010: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIAHANN!
Today is Diahann Carroll's birthday - she is 75 years young! With more
energy than many artists half her age she is still going strong with her
The Lady, The Music , The Legend show which will be broadcasted
early August on PBS and with her appearances in White Collar
and 1 a Minute. Why not start the celebration by listening to
a Ten Minute Musical Moment:
Join me for a Ten Minute Musical Moment in celebration of the birthday
of actress and singer, Diahann Carroll, Saturday, July 17th at 9am (Pacific
Time) repeated at 3 & 9pm.
I wish the special could be longer, but I'm limited on how many cuts I
can play in a row on Live365.com.
And then continue the celebration with some champagne (or a non-alcoholic
cold drink for my fellow nondrinkers) while listening to one of her albums
or watching one of her movies. As long as the celebration is in style
- because that's one thing Ms. Carroll showed from the beginning, no matter
what or where she performed and no matter what crowd she entertained.
Style. Class. Grace.
Here's to a timeless lady - here's to Diahann!

making further rehearsals and upcoming performances impossible."
Jeffrey Finn said, "Everyone associated with On Golden Pond is heartbroken

force of this production from the beginning, a consummate performer and
a dear, personal friend, her participation will be greatly missed."
